Drue Stapleton
Originally from Upstate NY, Drue was a 3 sport athlete through high school, but did not really start running regularly until after graduate school. In 2007 he completed his first sprint triathlon. Since then, he has completed several road races ranging from 5k to half-marathon distances and has also completed several other sprint and half-Iron distance triathlons. Drue holds a BS in Athletic Training and Physical Education from SUNY Cortland and a Master of Education from Salisbury University. He is a Certified Athletic Trainer (ATC) and a National Strength and Conditioning Association Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (NSCA-CSCS). He has managed to run regularly while working as an athletic trainer at SUNY New Paltz in NY and WV Wesleyan College, and as a doctoral student at WVU. He is currently working on his Doctor of Kinesiology at WVU. He believes in the multiple benefits of physical activity, and strives to encourage all to lead physically active lifestyles at all levels. His almost 10 years of athletic training experience will be useful in conducting gait analyses and injury prevention discussions. Drue also enjoys hiking, weight training, and spending time with his family.
Stephanie Caruso
Stephanie was born and raised in Wheeling, West Virginia. She began running when she was a freshman at Wheeling Central Catholic High School. She has always had great passion for running, so continued her running career in college. She is currently running cross country and track for WVU and will starting her senior year there this coming Fall. She is majoring in exercise physiology and plans to pursue a career in nursing. Stephanie would also like to continue with competitive running after college and coaching, as well.
Josh Simpson
Josh has been running competitively for the past 11 years, in which time he has been apart of 2 Usa cross country teams, 3 Olympic trials qualifications, selected for a World half marathon team and holds the #2 time all time 10k time in WV history and the #3 all time 5k time. Aside from Josh's running accomplishments he has also coached some of the areas best high schoolers for many years now. He has his degree from West Virginia Univeristy in Athletic coaching, where his passion really lies. He also has a passion for running shoes and has been apart of our team here at Morgantown Running since we opened. Please stop by and let Josh find the right shoe for your running needs and feel free to ask him any running related questions you may have. He will be more than happy to share his running experiences with you in an effort to help you with any goals you may have.
Jared Matlick
Jared is from Shepherdstown, West Virginia and is where he began running. He has been running long distances for 8 years. For the past 3 years, he has transitioned to becoming a barefoot and minimal shoe runner. He has learned and worked with physicans and physical therapists who share his passion for teaching the benefits of running barefoot. Running with proper form is what he believes to be the most important aspect of the runner. Jared has run 4 marathons including Pittsburgh and Boston Marathons. Jared has been accepted into Marshall University's Physical Therapy program and will be starting in May.
